Encyclopedia Uselessia, started April 24 2005, is an online encyclopedia collection of
useless knowledge, unlike most encyclopedias, which are collections of useful knowledge. It has a unique history: In it's beginning it was heavily updated, but then it was forgotten, remembered, forgotten, remembered, forgotten and remembered again. As of March 29, Encyclopedia Uselessia has 92 articles, 41 categories, 47 images, 1 redirection page, and 10 "extra" pages -- adding up to a total of 191 pages. As a comparison, in May 4, 2005 Encyclopedia Uselessia only had 55 articles and 43 categories, and a grand total of 101 pages.
Uselessia is the 1st known broad useless encyclopedia. Furthermore, Encyclopeida Uselessia frequently goes over the call of duty, and not only gives you information on certain items, such as food, but may also include tidbits, such as recipies (in the case of a food article). The Encyclopedia is managed and hosted by Greatplay.net Productions, and topics included are completely random and useless, as this encyclopedia should be. The Encyclopedia Uselessia can and may be classified as idiosyncratic, but some of the useless articles may be of some actual use to people looking for usefully useless information. Entries in the Encyclopedia Uselessia are intended to be slightly humorous, but correct and well-written as well, thus still retaining its resource and reference value. There are many references and inspirations from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams, as well as references from other fiction. Facts have been collected from other encyclopedias across the Internet, so information should be factual and safe, however not all information is garunteed accurate.
