THE UNIVERSE
The universe is typically regarded as everything: The earth, the sun, the solar system, all of matter, space-time and energy and everything else.
The universe includes everything from the largest star to the smallest string Since everything is included in the universe, the universe is considered
infinite, although it is also expanding.
The Facts:
Size of the Universe: ∞ x-dimensional units. (That's pretty darn large!)
Imports to the Universe: The universe receives no imports as there is nothing outside of it to import things from.
Population of the Universe: Since the universe is infinite there must be infinite life-bearing planets. But since not all planets are inhabited, and everyone knows an infinite number divided by a finite number is 0, the population of the universe must be zero.
Exports out of the Universe: See Imports
Expanding Universe:
The Universe is expanding, because the distance of stars are getting farther and farther away, as proven by their increasing redshift. This makes it apparent that if we were to go back in time, all of the stuff in the universe would start out in one point. However, at this stage the universe is still infinite, becuase the one small point of everything is still surrounded by infinite something: the rest of the universe.
