BOUNCY BALL

A set of five multi-colored bouncy balls.

A Bouncy Ball, or Superball, is a type of ball that has an extreme elastic bounce. When dropped, these balls are typically able to almost bounce back to their dropped height. If bounced with extra force, they frequently surpass their original height and hit ceilings or objects in the way with ½ the force used to bounce the ball. If they do not hit a ceiling/object in it's way, it will continue up to about 1.5x the original bounced height.

One famous type of a Bouncy Ball is a SuperBall (originally Super Ball), a toy manufactured by Wham-O. It is an extremely elastic ball of rubber, with high resiliency. Because of this, "Superball" has also become something of a generic name for any similarly high-bouncing rubber ball. The original Super Ball was invented by chemist Norman Stingley in his spare time in 1965.
