Today is Labour Day

In the wonderful words of Homestar Runner, “Todayborday is Labor Day”!

According to the freakishly in depth Wikipedia, Labor Day is “a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September [...] regarded as a day of rest and parades.”

And of course, two additional pieces of information that lets you know how wonderful Wikipedia is: the [...] elipsis was the omission of three paragraphs of complex history of the holiday (yes, it took that long to get to what the holiday means) and of course, who else but Wikipedia could reveal the true meaning of Labour Day?

In addition, Labor Day marks the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons. The NCAA usually plays their first games the week before Labor Day, with the NFL traditionally playing their first game the Thursday following Labor Day.

So you’re not supposed to work on Labour Day, and I’m going to do my best not to, less the Homestarmy come for me.

However, if you can’t tell by the wonderful pictures and the new front page and sidebar, I am redesigning around the site, and I plan to have it all done with a full tour by the end of this week.

Have a great Labour Day, everybody, and make sure you stick the “u” in things like it belongs!

The wonderful Dinosaur Comics sticks “u”s in things like it belongs!
