Friggin’ Inconvenient

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

I’ve been having a frustrating moment recently as my Apple power cord has broke, leaving me unable to use my laptop regularly. I’ve ordered a power cord replacement that could come in soon, but it has been disruptive of my work life and blogging, so I won’t be able to blog reliably until my new power cord comes in. This is why there is no essay today, and instead this apologetic rant.

Also, Dreamhost, my web server and domain hosting provider, has been giving me a bit of trouble with the FTP server pursuant to some problems they’ve been having that you may have heard about, but that’s all fixed now. No damage there.

I’ve also been frustrated by an increase in my workload as I work to create plans for me academically this summer. I’ll have to deal with those things too before I can begin blogging again. You can probably expect something for this Friday — very likely finishing up my analysis of SOPA — but I’m not making promises.

As has been said, if this is all I can complain about, my life is pretty good. I accept that this is just a silly first world problem. But it’s still frustrating.

Sincerely,
Peter Hurford

Don’t worry an even more stupid 1st world problem is “the guy whose blog I read, can’t blog, due to a broken power cable, so I have to think for myself”. ;-)

  2. Good news is I’m back up and running with a functional power cord — I plan on having an essay today plus a follow up to lots of comments! Just got to finish this summer research proposal first, grr…
