I want to do NaNoWriMo, except on my blog: I will be writing my 50,000 words in a series of blog essays for the month of November, attempting to write a blog post every day, something I wasn’t even able to do in my blogging experiment when I wasn’t a full time student.

I’m taking this week off from writing essays, but I’ll still be participating in comments on this blog as well as background research for upcoming essays and cleaning up the site. I have a lot of other obligations to get to and I want to do my research for upcoming essays especially in-depth, so I need this week to catch up. I feel confident that with this break, I’ll be able to re-acquire the momentum to put myself back on a three-quality-essays-a-week schedule.

Now that I’ve started my college year, I need a new blogging schedule. Spoiler alert: I’ve decided to run essays on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and then run a Weekly Link Roundup also on Friday.

Starting now and ending September 8, I will be taking a blog semi-vacation and publishing rewritten versions of my older, antiquated, yet still relevant Greatplay.net material instead of writing new material.

Occasionally things happen to change this site’s look and/or how this site functions, and I like to keep you peoples updated so you know what is going on. Posts like this do just that! Today, the updates involve how you can subscribe to stay on top of this site’s updates, Greatplay.net joining the Atheist Blogroll, and sidebar ads.

Despite having a research job for the summer, I have managed to find time to write an essay a day for the past two weeks; something I’ve never been able to pull off before. This has inspired me to try an experiment — to post five times a week, one essay a weekday for as long as I can manage. Read slightly more about it here.

I did a few instances of site cleaning: I changed all of the permalinks (but still leaving the old ones functioning and intact), I changed the names and reorganized some of the categories, and I added a table of contents. In this essay, I outline the changes I have made and the changes I still intend to make.

In what seems to be a December tradition, Greatplay.net is back with a new layout and a new commitment to possibly posting here. However, this time it might be a little bit different. Blog posts will not come in as regularly. Find out more about the hows and whys of what you can expect in this post.

Two quick updates in this post: 1.) I, as you obviously can see if you’ve been here before, have substantially altered this website’s design (yet again). and 2.) I got my very first death threat in the comments of this website. Check this post out to see!
